On Tuesday 17th February IPEMED and the Assemblée Parlementaire de la Francophonie (APF) made their partnership official by signing a framework agreement. Their respective representatives, Pascal Terrasse, deputy and general secretary of APF, and Jean-Louis Guigou, President of IPEMED, met on the premises of the APF.
The APF is an interparliamentary organisation aiming to promote democracy, the rule of law and human rights in the francophone space. It implements actions in the field of interparliamentary cooperation and democratic development.
By signing this partnership, both organisations set the objective of regional integration between Africa, the Mediterranean and Europe. They set the target to create an international Foundation called “La Verticale Africa-Mediterranean-Europe (AME)” aiming to become the economic and political cluster of this integration.
